Tell me, what is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life? When it’s over, I want to say: all my life I was a bride married to amazement. I was the bridegroom, taking the world into my arms. Instructions for Living a life. Pay attention. Be astonished. Tell about it. To pay attention. this is our endless and proper work. I don’t want to end up simply having visited this world. I simply do not distinguish between work and play. Listen - are you breathing just a little, and calling it a life?

The Greenlight Manifesto

At Greenlight Leadership we believe:

>>>

We are knee deep in a universal leadership crisis and we need to get real about leadership. (Hint: It's not soft. It's hard.)

>>>

We’ve spent too much time in our head space and not enough time in our heart space.

>>>

We spend too much time “doing" and not enough time “being."

>>>

We have been conditioned to be overwhelmed, overstressed, uncreative, and “tolerant” of wasted time and energy that doesn’t lead to impact. We have bought into the illusion that we must “survive” vs. “thrive." Essentially, we are selling out on both the individual and collective level.

>>>

And last, but not least, sustainable profit is the outcome of your people. The more you take care of your people, the better the results. It's about getting results through leadership.

Living A Greenlight Life >

You live your life on purpose. With Intent.

You care about more than just yourself…You are here to serve the greater good, and in some way, whatever is unique to you, you make the world a little bit better.

Just by Being here. Just by being you.

You balance Being with Doing.

You fit your work into your Life. Not your Life into your work.

You sense you are here to play a bigger game, and you inherently know that contributing to the greater good is the ultimate calling.

You embrace life-long learning and welcome opportunities to “re-invent” yourself.

You want to lead in a way that inspires others to live their own unique life.

You embrace diversity because you know that hanging with people just like you is a narrow, boring way to live.

You view your work as my friend, David Whyte defines as “an opportunity for discovering and shaping; the place where self meets the world.”

What Greenlight Leadership is NOT about >

Encouraging Conformity: Behavior that is the same as the behavior of most other people in a society, group, etc.

Authoritarian leadership:  Expecting or requiring people to obey rules or laws: not allowing personal freedom.

Note: Of course we need rules and laws… But where I draw the line is the “made up” rules and laws of what it means to be politically correct or managing in a way that prohibits people from doing their best work, with their unique talents. What I’m referring to here is the idea of producing “corporate robots.”  Because “I can’t wait to go to work today to have the life sucked out of me by a toxic work environment and a jerk of a boss,” Said No One Ever.
